Odd USB drive problem

Thread needs solution

I have a USB SSD drive attached to my BT router. It is visible in Win 10 and mapped to drive Z: I am able to fully access the drive.

However Acronis asks for a user name and password to access the drive and the router has no way of adding them. I asked on the BT forum and was told people were happily using Acronis without any need for this 'security'.

What's this all about? Is there an Acronis setting to avoid this?

Many thanks

David, sorry but I have never tried using any USB drives in conjunction with a router - my own VirginMedia Hub doesn't provide any option to do this.

If your BT router doesn't care about access credentials, then try just putting in something like 'Admin' for the user and the same for the password to see whether it allows you to go beyond the prompt?
