Restoring old backup
I'm currently using ATI 2019. I previously had ATI 2018 but the computer failed and needed to be rebuilt.
What I want to do is restore some files from the old backup sets (which are on NAS) but when I try to open a file, or validate using ATI 2019, I get the message Failed to add the backup to the backup list. The backup may be locked or corrupted.
Is it possible to do this?
The set of files of the last backup I'm interested in is shown below.

Hi Steve,
I was able to open a previous .tib but when I try to open a subsequent one it doesn't seem to work. Get stuck in requests to open a volume # x.
The process doesn't seem to be that intuitive.
I'll try again but I think what I'm looking for may not have been backed up.
Thanks though.

Nestor,
You might try using Windows Explorer to do this.
First, temporarily disable Active Protection
Second, open Explorer and navigate to the file location.
Third, hover your mouse over the desired file name and right click on it. A menu should appear.
Forth, select True Image, then select Mount Image.
This should mount the image file in explorer and allow you to navigate within the image anywhere you like.

Hi Enchantech,
That's basically what I was doing, but with Active Protection on. Turning it off, I get the same thing.
Mount.png is the message I get when I select Mount.
MountList.png shows the file I'm trying to mount.

Try running a validation on the backup flie. If that succeeds it will help.

I tried that and it didn't help. Looks like I have some old corrupt .tibs

Probably so. You might find the thread link below of interest.

If memory servers me correct. mounting from a NAS is problematic. This being because file/folder permissions on the NAS are UNIX/Linux in most cases and managed by the NAS device. For some reason, that causes issues when attempting to mount it from the Windows GUI on the PC. Although not ideal, in the instances where I've run into this, I was able to copy the backup to an external hard drive (USB 3.0) and then "mount" it that way.
