Acronis Standalone Recover Fails to Select Synology NAS Files

Thread needs solution

Trying to help a friend:  Acronis TI2020 was used to back up to a Synology NAS (DSM 7) with all being fine.  Also secondary backups to local PC hard drive.  When trying to RECOVER DISKS/PARTITIONS via booting USB Drive, all goes well when I select \\SERVERNAME\ and I can get the backup data files (*.tibx).  However, when selecting the Synology file, instead of using it, Recovery window disappears and then shows only Local PC Disk files, making it impossible to fully recover PC.  Any suggestions?

Herbert, welcome to these public User Forums.

How exactly are you trying to perform the recovery from your Synology NAS here?

If you are recovering a Disks & Partitions backup then you need to be using the Acronis bootable rescue media and not attempting to do this from within Windows.  If you start from within Windows then a restart will be needed anyway, and that restart will be into a temporary, small Linux kernel environment which may not be able to find the Synology NAS!

When recovering from boot media, then you first need to confirm that you have a working network connection, then will probably need to use the \\IP_address\ notation for the NAS as there is no DNS facility available normally!
