ATI 2020-Ability to Clone M2 NVme SSDs

Thread needs solution

Building new PC soon. Use only clone disc component of ATI. Need to know will this program reliably be able to clone M2 NVme SSDs?  Build will use a Samsung 970 Pro 512GB NVMe for C-Drive with W10-64bit installed.

Will need to clone C drive on regular basis to another Samsung 970 Pro 512GB NVMe that will be within an external USB drive enclosure that will be USB3.1

Have used Acronis for about 10years but all cloning done using platter hard drives and in recent years using 2.5" SATA based SSDs........cloning process always reliable.  But does it work reliably with M2 NVme PCIe drives such as the Samsungs mentioned earlier?

It should be possible to do the cloning. Many of us prefer to backup and restore to new drive to avoid (the possibly remote) damage. Cloning from within Windows can work (I did it once with ATI 2019 or 2018), but as you will be cloning over an existing windows installation the computer will probably reboot and use the Linux recovery environment (which may not have the necessary drivers - experience tends to differ on this) which can cause problems.

In the circumstances, I would use recovery media to do what you want to do; I would avoid the Linux recovery media and use either the Win RE or Win PE recovery media. I would still also create a backup before doing the clone out of abundant caution.
