ATI 2020 for Windows: One step of the Recovery Wizard takes 15 minutes to display

Thread needs solution

Greetings - I have had this issue going back to ATI 2018 for Windows and perhaps even earlier. Every now and then I have to do a complete partition restore of my C: drive. So I boot my PC up using a USB recovery disk. Acronis recovery starts. Then I... * Select the desired archive * Select the recovery method (partition) * Select what to recover (C drive) * Click the Next button Then consistently I will wait for up to 15 minutes for the next "Settings" screen to display. It eventually does, but it takes a long time. I am thinking it might have something to do with my NAS drive perhaps? My NAS is a BUFFALO TeraStation 3210DN with 2 8TB drives attached to my network via a Cat-6 ethernet. I am running Windows 10 professional. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas as to what might be going on here? Thanks in advance - Mark

Mark, from reading your description above, this sounds to me as if it may be normal behaviour given you are recovering from a network destination where it will take some time to do some initial validation checks on the backup archive version chain you have selected.

If the recovery operation completes successfully once any delays are past, then the only other way of checking things would be to see a copy of the Log file from the recovery to see if anything is shown there.  The log data is lost after leaving the ATI rescue environment so has to be saved before doing so.
