Complex Backup/Restore inquiry

Thread needs solution

So I have a personal computer with two hard drives C: and X:. The C drive has Windows installed on it and the X drive is used strictly for extra storage of files that I don't use every day, but need access to. I'm wanting to know if Acronis True Image can somehow backup both drives (perfectly as they are) to a single external hard drive (it will have enough storage space) as a temporary space until I get a new computer in with two new hard drives in it.

Once I get a new computer that has two newer and larger hard drives in it, I would then like to restore each drive from Acronis True Image to both drives C: and X: as I had them originally is that possible? For clarity, this would be going from 2 drives->1drive->2drives.

Hello!

Yes, that's possible.

You can create a backup plan, select the disks, and choose the external disk as the destination by following this KB: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2020/index.html#7937.html.

(If possible, avoid storing your system partition backups on dynamic disks.)

Afterward, you can recover both disks one by one using the universal restore method with the WinPE bootable media: https://kb.acronis.com/ati2020/aur.

Best regards.
