Does ATI 2020 have a cache that can be cleared?

Thread solved

I ask because I moved a number of old backups using ATI 2020, but one I had to use Windows Explorer and when validating said backup ATI would refer back to its original location. I tried to add it as an existing backup, but after navigating to it, ATI still referred back to the old location. So I could not validate it even after attempting to validate it from Windows Explorer.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Michael

Michael, ATI uses a database to track files it creates and their locations, so moving or deleting files outside of the main ATI GUI or using the options it provides can lead to orphan information in the database.

ATI 2020 also now uses metadata files to track .tibx file versions which makes it more likely to hit problems if files are moved or deleted.

The database can be cleared / rebuilt using the steps given in KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - but this won't resolve metadata issues (for .tibx only).  The latter can only really be resolved by either starting again, putting files back, or removing all files for the task to have it start afresh.

Fair enough.  Thanks, Steve.

Steve, I tried the step in the KB link you gave me and it worked.  That is awesome.  Thanks!
