error 0x90000b: Failed to deploy task

Thread needs solution

On my Windows 10 machine, I have multiple external USB drives that I backup each night.

One week ago, the 3 backup tasks defined for one of the drives stopped running.

I attempted to edit-save all the tasks but each time I tried to save, after inputting my credentials, I received the above Subject error.

I then ran the latest update, bringing my ATI to build 25700.

I then deleted all the tasks and backups for that drive and created all new tasks which saved without error.

I realized I had made an error in setting the time of all 3 tasks to PM instead of AM. Each time I tried to save the correction, I got the above error again and the backups will not run.

Attached is the error from ti_console.0

Any help much appreciated

Your log shows a number of errors that could contribute to the issue you are seeing.

error 0x90000a: The credentials are incorrect.
error 0x9007c: Task account check has failed:
The credentials are incorrect.
error 0x9ffff: Scheduling error.
error 0xfff0: There are currently no logon servers
available to service the logon request

First please ensure that ATI is running from an Administrator account and was installed using the same.

Then check that ATI is whitelisted to all installed security applications.

Double-check that your correct account credentials are being used.

I checked all above.

The tasks for the other drives, which I did not change, all ran without errors last night

For this drive tasks, the credentials used to save the edits were the same as the ones used for first successfully defining the tasks.

Is there a known defect associated with editing an existing task?

Can you clarify how credentials should be used with ATI...

My normal PC desktop login is X ( with Admin rights)
With this login, I installed ATI

I saved each backup task using credentials Y, another with admin rights,
Because I periodically change the PW for X, I use Y only for ATI and that PW will never change.
Any edits to the tasks are also saved by Y.

This has always worked in the past, is it still ok?

I would suggest that you should be installing ATI with Y so that the tasks etc are all kept to the same account and credentials.

Please refer to the KB linked below and follow the instructions there.

KB27259

Scheduler is running, here is the status of my ATI Services

Steve

I can uninstall ATI, login as Y, reinstall but before I do-

Can I import my saved backup task settings or do they need to be redefined?

Does that mean for any additional maintenance on ATI tasks I have to logout/login as Y?

You could try doing a Repair Install of ATI from your Y account to see if that will resolve the issues here.  My understanding is that the tasks run as the user that installed ATI and the issue you are seeing are probably down to the credentials for your X account changing.

Just to set this in context, I have never encountered this issue myself and don't recall seeing any reports of the same recently that I am aware of.

Programs and Features does not have an Repair option, only Uninstall

I have AcronisTrueImage2020_22510.exe but ATI has since been updated; should I sue this?

See KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - you should use the latest #25700 build.
