I don't see "Create Acronis Survival Kit" for a 2TB WD M.2 SSD external USB drive

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using Acronis True Image 2020 on a Windows 10 desktop.

I purchased a 2TB WD SSD and formatted it to NTFS.

It is in a drive enclosure and connected to the PC via USB 3.0.

I select it as the destination for a backup for my main drive with all partitions.

I don't see the "Create Acronis Survival Kit" for this specific drive.  Why?

I do see that option for other drives.

Thanks,
Rob

Hello Rob!

Please refer to the following KB and ensure that all prerequisites and steps are being followed:

https://kb.acronis.com/content/61639

Also, refer to the following KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/61738

Drive Status: Ensure that your WD SSD is recognized properly in Windows and is functioning correctly.

Drive Letter: Confirm that the drive has an assigned drive letter in Windows.

Alternatively, you can create a regular WinPE media: https://kb.acronis.com/content/63226

Best regards!

Rob, what model is the WD M.2 SSD. I may have the same drive which I can try to replicate what you are doing.

Drat, for some reason I thought it was an M.2 SSD, on rereading the post I suspect it is a SATA SSD.

Drat again, I was not imagining it was an M.2 drive - it is in the topic title but not the text.
