New user backup plan
I'm a new TrueImage user, setting it up. I've got one scheme going to do an image backup of my system drive weekly, now I want to do selective file & folder backups from a couple networked computers to an external USB drive.
I would like to do a full backup of all my files & folders monthly and incremental backups daily. No problem -- I can define two schemes to do that. But I would also like to archive each whole month's backups. I THINK all that will require is to rename the folder which TrueImage is backing up into to "Archive_xxx".
In other words, say TrueImage does its regular full (monthly) & incremental (daily) backups into a folder named "Working". I would rename "Working" to "Archive_xxx" after the last incremental backup of the month, create an empty folder named "Working", and TrueImage would start the next month fresh at its next full backup. Then I would build up folders named "Archive_xxx".
Would this work? Is there an easier way to do this? Thanks for any help!

Thanks, Steve. I'm not proposing to change the name of the folder ATI backs up to. ATI would always backup to the same folder ("Working"), but I would effectively empty the folder just before it did its monthly full backup. (I'd do that by renaming "Working" and creating a new empty "Working" just to avoid copying big files.) I think what you're suggesting in your last paragraph amounts to the same thing.
Would ATI be okay with its backup folder suddenly emptying just prior to a full backup? It seems like it would.

Gerrit,
I think for file/folder backups your plan would work fine. File/folder level backups in TI 2020 still use the .tib format rather than the new .tibx format used for disk/partition level backups. Therefore the data tracking that the app uses with the .tibx format would not be in effect for a .tib format backup.
