Jac, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please see the attached PDF file showing the steps needed to create the AUR ISO file from my own computer.

Yes Steve i have seen that instructions, but as indicated when i have to browse for location the window disappear after 2 seconds so the program stops, can someone test it for me  and Run Universal Restore Media Builder for creating an iso file ??   thanks in advance

Jac, the PDF document above was from an actual create of the AUR ISO file as shown by the final screen image in the document.  I did this on my own computer in order to produce that document to show you.

Hi Steve,

But did you use the 2020 Universal  Restore media Builder  ?

Still   when i have to browse for location, the location is already filled in  and i cannot change it because  the window disappear after 2 seconds so the program stops.

Jac, the PDF document clearly shows that this was all done using the ATI 2020 AUR media builder back on April 9th.

Have you tried clicking within the left-hand 'Browse for location' column, as this should then show scroll bars along the bottom and right side of the box?

Hi Steve , I cannot select anything in the left  pane , nothing shows up but program terminates see video.

Regards

Jac

Jac, sorry but the only further recommendations here would be to try doing a repair install of both ATI 2020 and AUR using the latest download builds from your Acronis Account to see if that will help resolve this strange issue.

Otherwise, open a support case direct with Acronis for them to investigate this problem (though I would guess that they will ask you to also do a repair first!).

KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - has further information if needed.

Hi Steve,

I did a full uninstall of Acronis and used the CleanTool , and after  reinstalling both  , i had the same problem with Universal Restore Media Builder .

Only since i use Acronis True Image since 2014  i saw that a lot of old stuff is gone now and the \All Users\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMSData\DML\F4CEEE47-042C-4828-95A0-DE44EC267A28.db3  DB3 file was before 1,3GB  and now is has a normal size 144Kb .

This means by upgrading Acronis leaves a lot of old stuff  on my harddisk and in the registry  which is not correct.

I contacted support, but really they treat me like a dummy, they dont read my emails what exactly my problem

is  , i as a retired-ICT engineer ( programmer etc etc) gave them what a probably  problem is with the  Universal Restore Media Builder application, that it cannot handle my  huge maps and harddisks  of my system , and that it terminates  by error without logging the error.

I sent them also the video which shows clearly what my problem is , but the support engineer named Ankit Manwatkar i think he did not look at it , his answers  is that i have a problem with Arconis rescue media builder , instead of  Universal Restore Media Builder.

I am very upset about there support, this is NOT normal support.

Also about version 2020 i dont like the TIBX format of one file , i prefer  more files like the TIB format has,

i know  you can change a script to do that what i did, but they should give it as an option to select in the backup options   TIBX or TIB format.  One file TIBX can be very huge in size  and grows every time after a incremental backup, my expierence is it is better to have more files than one very big file.

Jac

Jac, one last suggestion here.

Please download the MVP Custom ATIPE builder script - link is in my signature.

This tool will incorporate all installed Acronis products into one rescue media tool - this is my main tool these days and gives a much better platform for using these tools in a standalone environment.

Thanks Steve i will try that one.

What i did now  with  Universal Restore Media Builder  creted an DVD  and after that i created an ISO file of the  DVD :)

Thanks for your help

Jac,

I was able to reproduce your issue on one of my systems.  I tried various fixes none of which worked.

I have another system on which I downloaded and installed the AUR Media Builder, then ran the application with success.  Conclusion is this is a bug in the builder installer file.  I tried a repair install of the installation.  That results in several file references that say the repair cannot access the file because it is open suggesting that I choose continue to proceed and allow the offending file to be replaced upon system restart.  All such attempts fail to fix the issue.

Hi Enchantech, but do you know why it works on  one system and not on the other system ?

And  do you have the same issue as shown in my video ?

The only difference I am aware of between the machines is that the one that fails had True Image 2019 installed and was upgraded to True Image 2020.  The other machine had True Image 2020 installed without any prior version of True Image ever being installed on the machine.

Yes, it is the exact same behavior.  I found nothing that would remedy the behavior and trust me I tried!

Thanks Enchantech, so there is work for the developers , but how do they know it  this bug. I created a support ticket

but really that is no support at all.

IMHO - Acronis should throw all their different "Build Boot" versions out with the bathwater, and let the MVP Custom ATIPE builder script be the only one to support, with help from the MVP Team.

Then we would not have all these different threads with all ppl. having troubles, with different versions of a build.

Oh well.... just my opinion, and I stand correct :-)
