Thread solved

Hello,

I use Acronis True Image of Western Digital.

1.- Is this the Ati 2021 version?

2.- I read: for incremental backup: "catering can only be achieved from a cloud backup". Does this mean that if I make my backups on an external hard drive, I will not be able to restore my incremental backups using ATI?

Thank you very much for your help.

Jean-Pierre, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products which applies to all OEM versions of ATI supplied with hardware purchases.

It may be equivalent to ATI 2021 but impossible to tell for certain?

Backups to the Acronis Cloud require a subscription for cloud storage for use otherwise it would only be a 30-day trial and all the cloud data would be lost if a subscription is not taken.

Incremental backups do not rely on having an Acronis Cloud backup or subscription - any backups to a local external storage drive are complete in themselves (provided no files are deleted or moved by the user using any non Acronis programs such as Explorer).

Thank you very much, Steve Smith,

It seemed strange to me that I couldn't restore incremental backups outside of the cloud.

(Yet this is what is written clearly on page 31 of the ATI guide – French version):

"Incremental restore is only performed to the original location and only from a cloud backup”.

Thanks for your help.
