TI 2020 delete activities log?

Thread needs solution

Correct, there is no method provided or known for deleting activity logs unless you remove the backup task and then recreate it again.

I am not convinced that there is any need for such an option as it is derived from the actions of the backup task and is reinstated when using the 'Add existing backup' if I remember correctly, picking up activity data from the files that exist.

Hello Allen,

No, there is no such possibility. Could you let me know why you would like to delete activities so that we could file a change request?

Renata, this is perhaps not a very compelling reason, but I dislike retention of useless data.  On an ATI 2019 installation I have one daily backup with an activity log going back to Dec, 2018.  Another daily backup has an activity log going back to Feb 2018.  Obviously, my ATI 2020 activity logs don't go back that far.

What is the purpose of hanging on to year+ (or whatever I want the retention period to be) old activity logs if there are NO problems.

It's just clutter I do not want to see.

It's MY product that I own and I should have that latitude!

I've had Acronis for several years now. I have no need for 2 years of worthless log files.

Al, there are no worthless log files involved here with regards to the Activity page information, if there were then it would be a simple matter of deleting the unwanted logs to remove the older information.

If you want to remove unwanted logs produced by ATI then please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) which has an option in its Tools menu to do log file cleanup actions.  Note: run this tool as Administrator to be able to clean the most logs in this way.  You will also need to turn off the Active Protection feature temporarily while doing this.
