True Image 2020 -Replicate backup files to another drive for 3-2-1 or schedule a duplicate backup?

Thread needs solution

Since it appears the only option in ATI 2020 in regards to making a "backup copy of your backup" is to replicate the backup to the cloud. My internet isn't fast enough for that. If there isn't a way within the program to tell it, hey, after you perform the back to drive G: , send those files to drive H: for safe keeping.... then what are my options? 1- Move all the .TIBX files? 2- Create a duplicate backup job that does the same thing as the original just to a different drive? Seems redundant and resource intensive for something I was hoping would be built into the program (NOT cloud) Thanks!

Kevin, welcome to these public User Forums.

The new replication feature introduced with ATI 2020 only works to the Acronis Cloud and for many users, myself included, this is not viable for a number of reasons!  Unfortunately Acronis have not indicated if they will extend replication to work with other locations such as a NAS or other computer, external drive etc!

The alternatives to replication require either using multiple backup tasks, or else using other methods to copy existing backup files to your second location.

Of the above, the first is the easiest to implement and will be self managing if setup correctly but will require additional processing resources etc.

The second option has its own considerations, especially when the new .tibx files are involved as these have more interdependencies than previous .tib file chains, plus you also need to deal with Acronis Active Protection which is intended to hamper this type of activity to prevent ransomware from doing similar actions!

See forum topic: Full Backups no independent entity - where a similar issue was discussed previously.  There is a zipped powershell script here in that topic which moves full backup files to another location to help keep them completely independent of each other.
