Upgrading to ATI2020

Thread needs solution

Not too long ago, ATI 2018 rescued me from a Windows failure and earlier today I recieved a mail from Acronis with an offer to upgrade to 2020.

Can I ask what advantages I will get by using the latest 2020 version of the programme? Not sure if I understood correctly but watching a YT video it seemed to say that with 2020 I could have the recovery boot on the same external drive as I do the back ups on. At the minute I have the boot on a USB drive and my back up on an external drive.

Mike, there are some new features introduced in ATI 2019 & 2020 that are not present in 2018, including the new Clean up versions option for each task, improved Acronis Active Protection, and in 2020, an option to Replicate a local backup image to the Acronis Cloud.

The main benefit of upgrading is in getting access to Acronis Support for the period of time that 2020 is the current product that Acronis is promoting & for 30 days after the next new version is released to the public.

ATI 2020 has introduced a new .tibx file format used for any new Disks & Partitions backup tasks which takes a learning curve to get the hang of..!  This file format has been used in the Acronis Backup business products for some years and is now being brought to ATI.

See KB 63498: Acronis True Image 2020: new tibx backup format FAQ - for more information.

Note: you are likely to get comments from other users saying that ATI 2020 is not ready for prime time use and you should wait longer before adopting it, but I guess this will depend on how good your upgrade offer is and how long it is valid for?
