Canon Print Studio Pro - False Positive

Thread solved

I'm getting a message that Canon's Print Studio Pro / CNPSPAPP.exe is possible Ransomeware.  I'm assuming that's a false positive but would like to have some confirmation. I'm Windows 10, Acronis True Image 2021, Build 39216.

Thanks in advance,
...Jerry

Cannot be 100% certain, but I would think that it is a false positive. If the same version of the file has been used for some time then everything should be OK.

Normally this sort of message is triggered by a program doing something that looks like the file is being encrypted - it can catch video and image manipulation programs. For example converting an MPEG 2 to an MPEG 4 video.

Ian,

Yes, I've been using this application for years without issue. And a scan with Malwarebytes indicated it was okay. So... I"m going to flag Acronis to ignore CNPSPAPP.exe.

Thanks for the quick response,
