CHARGED BUT DID NOT ORDER THIS!

Thread needs solution

DID NOT PLACE THIS ORDER!! Yesterday, I got an email offering a FREE upgrade to 2021, so I clicked on the Windows button. I downloaded but did not install, since I had another forum question to ask about my 2019 version first.

At no time did I intend to place an order for a cloud subscription or anything else. Today, I have been charged $49.99. I immediately canceled the cloud subscription but saw that this does not request a refund. I want an immediate refund. How do I get, it, please? The Acronis support page simply sent me to the chatbot's printed pages.

The forum administrator, Ekaterina, should be able to sort this out for you. She has done so for many users including me. I suggest sending her a PM (Ekaterina).

Dear Philip, what do you mean by "Windows button": is this related to a hyperlink in the eMail?  

Thanks for your reply. Yes, as shown in the attachment. I'm sorry for not writing more clearly; I was upset and was assuming, I guess, that you would have been familiar with the mass email already. As I said in my subsequent email, I have submitted a ticket (and received the auto reply saying that I'll get a response soon). However, if you would like to see the offer email, I can send screen shots of the whole thing.

No worries (i'm also upset;) Acronis has many security issues with 1Click-URLs and did not respond (yet) to my concern as ID/Serial is also submitted via HTTP when browsing to Release Notes so please don't post it publicly

Philip, the key phrase in the image snippet from the email, is:

As a loyal subscription user, you get this new version absolutely for free.

All Acronis subscription plans allow for free upgrades to new versions of ATI while the subscription is active!  If your subscription has ended or you only have a perpetual license, then there is no free version!
