Issue creating Acronis Survival Kit on External Hard Drive
I'm using Acronis True Image 2021 on a Windows 10 system, Dell XPS 15. I have an external hard drive I'm using for the backup and plan to create my Acronis Survival Kit on there. When I try to create it something is going wrong.
The first part of the creation goes fast and then it seems to hang for awhile when it says "Saving .wim file." Then after awhile it stops and says "An Error occured while creating media. Unable to copy the product files." When I clicked on "Check for a Solution" there was no solution for this type of issue.
Any idea how to resolve this?

Hi. Build 30480 does NOT offer "survival kit" when connection an empty exernal HD and trying to save. I'm very disappointed! ATI 2021 is not finished yet!
Kind regards

Willy, welcome to these public User Forums.
Sorry but your statement is not correct - I have tested this myself only a couple of days ago and was able to create a Survival Kit using one of my own external HDD's with no problem from ATI 2021 build 30480.
The key here is that your backup has to be for 'Disks & Partitions' for the Survival Kit option to be shown! It is not shown if making a 'Files & Folders' backup.
See KB 61639: Acronis True Image: how to create Acronis Survival Kit - for more information on the process.
Also KB 61738: Acronis True Image: Survival Kit disk partition for backups is limited to 2TB on BIOS-booted systems
