Long time customer. Disappointed

Thread needs solution

I have been an Acronis customer for over 15 hears. In the past Acronis has saved my hide many times.

Recently I was forced to upgrade from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10. Upon upgrade I discovered Acronis 2013 no longer worked. Hey I like Acronis and tolerate Windows, so I upgraded my Acronis 2013 to Acronis 2021.

I am not a happy camper:

1) The Acronis 2021 installer forced me to uninstall Acronis 2013 before it would install Acronis 2021.

2) After I installed Acronis 2021 I tried to create a rescue disk. Acronis burned the disk. It booted, but it did not boot Acronis. It tried to boot windows. It was very, very slow. Basically it didn't work. The furthest it got was displaying a Windows logo and the message "Starting Windows". I waited over 2 HOURS. No go! It never booted.

3) I tried creating a Linux Rescue disk. That worked. It booted Acronis.

4) After fighting my way through the "new" very clumsy menus on Acronis 2021 I managed to create a full backup of my Windows 10 system. HOWEVER because of all the issues, I have no confidence Acronis 2021 will restore it.

I 'm very, very, very disappointed. Acronis was a fine product. Acronis 21 is crap. Its been dumbed down with visually attractive but useless menus that make hard to use. It can't reliably create a rescue disk. I'm looking for a new tool. Sorry Acronis you blew it.

Hello Craig,

It's a very long jump from ATI 2013 to ATI 2021. Needing to uninstall 2013 is not unreasonable.

As for the rescue media, please look at this forum thread from when I had the same problem with ATI 2020 a year ago. Go down to post #20 to see how I was able to fix the problem. Basically, there is a left over Windows 7 recovery partition and ATI does not well handle that there are two. Hopefully, this will get you to the point of creating a good recovery drive.

Let us know how that goes.
