Renewing Subscription but with Changes. Does this make sense?

What I sent Support:
My current subscription expires soon. It's Acronis True Image Premium 3 Computers - 1 year subscription. Includes 1 TB Acronis Cloud Storage. But I don't want to have that same subscription again.
I now only need to protect 1 computer. Can I just buy that one-year subscription from the website and enter that serial number?
Support's reply:
You may go ahead and purchase Acronis True Image 2021 PC 1TB cloud storage subscription license from the below given purchase link:

You can purchase this subscription with a different email account as you cannot keep two different subscriptions under one account. If you opt to keep the two subscriptions under one account, we can update your Acronis account as per the recent purchase. This results in data loss from cloud storage.
But if I buy a new subscription, it would make sense that I would have to do a complete cloud backup anyway.
What I replied to Support:
Please clarify the data loss from the cloud, as your response is not clear. Is this correct?
- Purchase under same email: I lose all cloud backup and need to do a complete backup again
- Purchase under different email: Won't I still need to do a complete cloud backup again?
Not making this a smooth process for changing subscriptions is not very customer oriented. I should be able to do that in the renewal screen (add/remove PCs, add/remove cloud storage by TB).
Anyone ever have to change their subscriptions? Is this just the way it is?
