What happens when Deactivating a computer in Acronis subscription

Thread needs solution

I have a True Image subscription. I also have Perpetual licenses for 2019, 2018, 2017...

I have noticed online that my main PC is listed as an Active Computer under the subscription and has been since getting the subscription on 2019. At that time, I installed ATI 2019 on the machine. When ATI 2020 came out, I turned off the setting to automatically check for updates as I didn't want to move up to ATI 2020 yet.

I now also have a perpetual license for ATI 2019 and when I look in the application I can see that it is running under the perpetual license, not the subscription. I don't know when I switched to do that, but I must have.

Anyway, in my account online I click the Manage link for the subscription. I have a button to Deactivate any of the devices. My question is, what will happen if I deactivate my main PC which is running the Perpetual version of ATI 2019? My expectation is that the machine should see no change. But things don't always work as they should or as expected and I don't want to do anything to cripple its operation, even if just temporarily.

Bruno, if your PC is activated via your perpetual serial / license, then deactivating it for the subscription should make no difference!

I did this recently when doing a cleanup of all the PC's that were shown when I clicked on the Manage option for my subscription (MVP) and removed all but the one PC that is actually using this.  All my other PC's are on perpetual licenses!

If you are signed in to the same Acronis Account, then these will still see Cloud space associated with your subscription account (if it is the same).

Thanks, Steve. I figured it would be something you'd done. I've just removed a couple PCs from the subscription and all is OK on the main PC with 2019. Now I'll update my wife's PC from 2018 to 2019.

I wish there was a way to see how many licenses are being used on a perpetual subscription for multiple PCs. I can't find it online.

That's been a long time gripe among users - Acronis can do it for subscription users so they should be able to do the same for perpetual provided the users are signed in to their Acronis Account, otherwise the only way is by trying to activate on a new PC to trigger the message that the number has been exceeded for the license, when the existing allocations are shown!!!
