Mohamed, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but more questions than answers at this time?

Which type of Acronis Rescue Media have you created, i.e. Simple WinPE, Advanced WinPE or Advanced Linux?

What operation are you performing when using the Rescue Media?
Are you making a Disk backup or a Files & Folders backup?
What destination is being used for the backup?  Internal drive, external drive etc?

How long have you waited when the application looked to pause or hang?

Does the whole application lock out, i.e. are you able to cancel the operation and return to the previous panels?

Hi Steve Smith

Thank you for your prompt reply, I use Advanced Linux, I make a Disk backup, the destination Internal drive D, for time of hang I must restart manually and the operation cannot be canceled or returned to the previous panel unless I restart manually.

I want to add that I use the acronis application since 2017.

This issue occur only in the new version 2021.

Mohamed, I would recommend trying the 'Simple' WinPE version of the rescue media which will be created using the Windows Recovery Environment files on your PC and will include support for your devices.

Mohamed, do you have an external USB drive you can use as the backup destination that you can try, and can you do some further tests with some small backup activities.

Try doing a Disks & Partitions backup of the smallest partition only on your source drive, i.e. the Windows Recovery partition or EFI System partition etc.

Try doing a Files & Folders backup of a small user documents folder.

Do you still see a hang with these test backups?

Beyond the above suggestions, is your PC being overclocked in any way?  CPU or Memory etc?

I am not seeing any other users in the forums reporting this type of issue and have not seen this myself on my own PC's.

Do you have another PC that you could test the same actions on?

Again, when I use acronis 2020 rescue disk it works good this happen only when using 2021

Mohamed, I can only recommend that you open a Support case direct with Acronis for this issue as I cannot offer any explanation to you for why you are seeing an issue like this only with the 2021 media yet the 2020 media doesn't give the same hang!

I make the boot disk from Rufus using the downloadable .iso.  Works fine. I do a lot of testing on PCs and do a backup using the bootdisk, play with the machine a bit and if it crashes, I restore using that bootable .iso. Have done it many times. I have also have a easy2boot with all the Acronis, Windows, and Linux iso's on it in case one doesn't work. You can try Ventoy as well.  Rufus never fails but you have to choose mbr or uefi. I have both for whatever I do. The iso boot will also do my Linux machines and if you use ext4 it will compress vice a sector backup. Just nice to know info. My $.02 since working with Acronis since it's inception.

Anthony, all the ATI rescue media, including the ISO download is capable of booting in both Legacy/MBR and UEFI/GPT modes and should not need anyone to use third-party tools to create rescue media when the integrated builder tool can create all the different types of media.

Downloaded ISO images will need to be burnt to optical media or use a tool like Rufus to convert to USB but again the integrated tool can do this direct without any download needed.

But you don't have to load Acronis to download the .iso or even run for that matter. I generally just use the bootable .iso to backup my boxes - removes any application or OS from the equation. Last time I tried the Acronis created version, it made my machine unbootable so I stick to what I know works. Plus, the older iso's are on the same Easy2boot drive and I can read tib's and tibx's using one or the other. I have many legacy .tib's that I have to refer back to for specific information from time to time. To each his own.

Anthony, you are correct that the ISO download doesn't require that ATI be installed but then again this is what the majority of users will do, i.e. install ATI.  Otherwise they are paying for something that they will never get the full benefits or advantages from.
