Cloning or Backup Horribly Slow

Thread needs solution

Using boot cd with Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1
I can clone a drive to another drive on an HP5700, Intel Processor in about 5 minutes.
Attempting to do the same operation on an HP5750, AMD Processor estimates 15 hours.
Both have Sata drives, slightly different bios, slightly different motherboard because of the processor.
Booting from Cd should bypass some things. What should I look for? Bios differences?

Hello Wayne,

Thank you for your question. I will do my best to assist you.

Most probably this issue is caused by the hardware drivers in the recovery CD, they support one set of hardware configuration better then the other. It is not necessary related to Intel or AMD processors.

Since version 9.1 is no longer developed, I can suggest the following workaround. I will send you a trial recovery CD for Acronis Backup and Recovery 10, it is limited to restoration only, but it has backward compatibility for images created by 9.1.

You can either recover or do a disk clone. The recovery is pretty straight forward, from the main disk menu select Recover and go through the wizard.

In order to clone, you will have to click on - Navigation-> Disk management -> Right click on the target disk -> Select clone -> continue with the cloning wizard.

If Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Workstation works better for you, you can always upgrade to it. Please check this link and on the right, there is a shortcut - Upgrade from Echo Workstation or 9.1 Workstation.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
