FTP server not appearing when trying to crete image from boot CD

Thread needs solution

Quick question.
I have an FTP server configured to store acronis images. I can FTP to the server from the machine in question, and successfully login and set the system to pasv (passive mode). When I boot from the Acronis image CD, I try to enter the path:
ftp:///home//backup.tib
when I hit Enter, I am told the user has no privileges to create the file, however, I am never prompted for a password. The system logs on the server show no logon attempts for that user or any user for that matter.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks much,
V

Just FYI, the HTML editor removed my braces.. the FTP path is correct and is like this

ftp:\\ipaddress\home\username\somefile.tib

Sheesh, why do so many CMS platforms insist on using HTML to generate posts.  Very frustrating.

Hello V,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for posting. I will definitely help you.

Please try entering the ftp path the following way:

 ftp://user name:password@ftp address.net

In case this fails to work, please provide me with additional information.

Type of ftp server and where it is located. Which build of Acronis you are using and which program version?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Good morning Anton,

Thank you for your welcome and your assistance. Your efforts are much appreciated.

I tried the structure you suggested to no avail. Below are the details you had asked for:

FTP server type: Linux running ProFTPd (again I can successfully FTP to the server from the system we are trying to image)
Where it is located: on a LAN
Acronis Build/Version: build 8.115 V8

Funny thing is, I have had this working before by using a path completely different from the one suggested by the GUI. What worked before (I'm kicking myself for not writing it down) was similar to:
123.234.345.456/FILENAME.tib
and I was then prompted for the userid and password

Again thank you for your suggestions.
V

Hello V,

Thank you for replying and you are very welcome.

I appreciate the detailed response. Can you please try entering the ftp address, either your way or the one suggested by me, and not press next for a little while. Let our software connect to the ftp server and it should pop-up with a credentials window.

Please kindly get back to me and let me know how it goes.

Thank you.
