Out of disk space error - TI Workstation 9.1

Thread needs solution

I've got an incremental backup set up to run weekly. I've finally run out of disk space on the target drive. Now, I naively assumed that TI was smart enough to start deleting old backups to make room for new ones, but apparently that's not the case.

So the question is: can I just start deleting the oldest backups? Is there an original one I need to keep as a reference? Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks,
dpm

Hello Dean,

Thank you for your post. I will certainly help you with your question.

You need to keep all of your backups in order not to lose any data. Incrementals rely on each other and on the full backup that precedes them. I would recommend to create a new full backup and start from scratch.

As an alternative, you can create differential backups, they rely on the full backup only and you can delete differential backups that are between the full and the last differential. There is a detailed guide available here.

Acronis True Image Workstations 9.1 is an outdated product with simple features, we have a more advanced version called Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Workstation. You can check its features here as well as download the trial version.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
