TI 9.7 build 8398, Runtime error starting tib image explorer

Thread needs solution

Windows XP SP3.

I have noticed that if i try and open a backed up image i get a runtime error. See attached, Explorer crashes and then restarts.
I can mount the image no problem so that is a work around at this time.

I have tried it by opening the tib image file from the menu in TI or from the right click context menu in explorer.

I have tried some of the knowledge base steps.
Like manual uninstall of the device backup image explorer then uninstall TI and reinstall TI.
This did not help.

Any ideas why this feature no longer seem to work.

Hello Mike M,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to assist you.

We can try resolving this issue by installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package and you can also launch the installation package for Acronis True Image Echo and select to repair the installation. I am confident that the issue will be resolved.

I would really appreciate if you can get back to me in case you have additional questions or experience any issues.

Thank you.

Well same error, if i try and explorer the image.

I install the MS Visual C++ 2005 SP1, then did the repair of TI and rebooted. Got the same error as before.

Explorer crashes and after i click on the OK button in the error window i posted in the first post the desktop goes blank, explorer restart automatically and recovers .
