2 Partition Backups - 2 Boot disks?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I've just updated to Win8 from XP and I'm using a trial version of ATI.
I've done a partition backup on a internal HD and done a boot CD, this is going to be the one that I'll update every week.
I've also done a partition and boot CD on a external USB HD - I'm going to leave this alone, so if I want I can get as close to a new installation as possible.
What I need to know is, do I need the 2 boot CD's?
I assume each one will point at it's backup location upon restore, is this correct or does it ask for the backup location on restore?.

When you begin to perform the restore, from within the TrueImage CD, you will need to browse to your storage disks and select the bacikup to be used. Once the backup is selected, the user needs to select the target location. Nothing is automatic.

Windows 7 and 8 is much more than Drive C. You need backups of the total system disk.
Click on link 3 below and look at the first picture. That shows how to perform a disk image backup which includes all of the system disk.

You would probably benefit from reviewing link #3, item inside that link. Within link 3, item 1 and 2 could also be of interest.
