2011 Version...add to backup list and frozen issues

Thread needs solution

I'm using Windows 7.... never had a problem before. Last usage of ATIH 2011 was a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, tried using it today to backup, and when the menu came up, it kept being frozen. So I figured, perhaps wrongly so, but whatever, that perhaps something got corrupted in the program. So I uninstalled it. Then reinstalled the program. So now I'm trying to add the backup files that I previously have made, to the back up list. When I click on browse, scroll to the directory in question, it asks me if I want to add it to my backup list. I click the button, asks me 4 my password, then nothing happens. Also other parts of the program seem frozen. It will not let me scroll down my current backup list; in fact, even if I try and click Help in the upper right hand corner, that's frozen. It's only this Acronis program. Rest of the programs on my laptop and my external drive work fine.

I don't have a clue where to start...

I would un-install the program and then run the 2011 Clean-up utility. I would then delete all the files in your %temp% folder, as well as any files located in your Windows\Temp folder. Any files in use, you can skip. Also it would be a good idea to run the Windows Check Disk tools on both your system drive as well as any other drives you may have connected, especially your backup destination drive. Also be sure to scan for any virus or malware with currently updated security software. If everything looks good, re-install Acronis True Image 2011, and re-test.

Also be sure to use the latest build of 2011. It is 6942.

Also, Steve, you don't need to add your backups to your list. You should, however, right click on your latest existing backup and validate them (right click on the TIB file, choose archive, validate).
