Greetings,
Typically this is a snapapi failure. (as you discovered on your own)

Suggest you:
-Perform a repair install
-Restart your machine
-re-apply snapapi update
-Restart and retest

Curious, what snapapi update did you download?

Note: If you have upgraded your product from an earlier version, you might need to uninstall the product, run the clean up utility then reinstall the product.  If you do run the clean up tool, please follow the instructions completely before restarting your system.

If my memory is correct I did have 11 & upgraded to 12

Do not know how to uninstall & re-install but will have a look at that tomorrow -- it is 2AM and well past the small window of time each day when my limited computer skills are functioning at their best.

Thank you for the response - I will attempt the fix in 10 or 12 hours

Hi -- I started in to the instructions - uninstalled Acronis then wondered if it might be better to Pay for the 2013 upgrade - install it and be done in 10 minutes.

I did upgrade - installed 2013 - did a disc backup & schedu;led it for twice a week - then I tried an e-mail backup scheduled for every day - that is not working I can not figure out why but I will put the question to the 2013 section

Hi Gordon,
One of the misconceptions about upgrades is this. You don't have to install an earlier version, then the upgrade on top of that in order to successfully install the product. The same goes for newer builds of the same version. Problems can occur since the architecture in both windows and Acronis changes as new versions of windows and new versions of Acronis are released. There is usually a small window of complete compatibility.

Most times an upgrade will go smoothly, but occasionally an older version being updated to a newer version can introduce problems. File remnants, orphaned registry entries, etc which remain or don't get properly updated. I usually install this way. Also applies to upgrades. Uninstall older version first, run clean up utility, then install latest build of the current product. You can import settings and tasks, but again, sometimes the way things are implemented change from one version or build to the next. I'm sure you get the idea. :)
