2013 Windows 8 Backup fails

Thread needs solution

2013 with Plus fails to backup my hard drive. I boot up using the boot media. Walk through the screens to set up the backup parameters. Upon reaching the final screen I click PROCEED and the computer reboots.
This machine does not have secure boot. I did apply a patch for this and checked that I am running the most current version of True Image 2013 with Plus. Does this work with Win 8. I am not sure I want to use this and find out the restore does not work either. Please advise!!!!

You shouldn't have to reboot the computer to backup your drive. Are you sure you are not going through a clone operation?

I created a boot media disk on the same computer that I am trying to back up the C: Drive on. The D: Drive backup was successful while running under Windows. I do not think a back up of the C: Drive would be any good while the System is in use. Even Windows update CAN NOT update the system files while they are in use. After reaching the final screen I clicked PROCEED and the computer rebooted without giving any error message. I have been using Acronis for years and this has never happened until windows 8.

I downloaded the Boot media from Acronis 2013 PP and tried to that, same results. I also tried on my Dell Inspiron with uefi disabled, same results. Both machines just reboot when the backup starts. I have been using Acronis for several years, was a great product. I have now switched over to NERO12. I downloaded their Bootable Image ISO, burned CD and backed up my hard drives on both machines. I will wait for some more future updates to Acronis 2013 PP. I really like the feature of being able to mount a backup Drive image and extract previous versions files that I need.

I believe they may have fixed this issue because I'm using Windows 8 Pro (64bit) and I was able to create a backup of the C drive and also the system partition without any problems. Then you create a bootable media using ATI2013 and boot to that. Then restore the data using the backup. Unfortunately it doesn't support cloning the disk if the disk is set to a dynamic partition. :(
