Is 2014 more robust with real NAS setups?

I'm considering an upgrade. But I just found that my current backup set is somehow problematic (again) and it might be the same thing.

I would like to ask if 2014 robustly supports backing up to Network Storage (NAS) devices, addressing these by _name_ (e.g. \\my-nas-device\blah ) - and does not have issues if the NA device should at some point get allocated a new IP address by the DHCP?

I'm not interested in a bland "yes, NAS is supported" answer - I'm looking for a "yes, we identified that issue and it is definitely fixed now"... or an honest "no, it'll still be the same".
