2015 file recovery across multiple .tib files

Thread needs solution

I created a backup with 2015, spanned across multiple 4.7Gb tib files. I am trying to restore a specific directory from this backup and can't get 2015 to stop complaining that it can't find previous backups. I try to add the files manually, but it does not understand multiple files (not in the backup; in the directory of tib files).

Can someone help? I have searched the KB and cannot find how to load a backup from multiple tib files. I want to load the backup, find the directory I want, and restore it or its contents to some location.

Thanks,

CLD

I think I know what the problem may be. While I find this software difficult to use, the problem may be that the backup is corrupt. On other backups I have, double-clicking on any of the multiple files (not using 2015) will bring up the file structure I need through the OS. Even so, I would still like to know what I am doing wrong on this issue...

Thanks,

For the future, is it absolutely necessary that you have the tib file split into pieces. If the targert were NTFS (instead of Fat32), the files would not be split.

Hi Grover,

Thanks for the reply.

If splitting the files (generally for copying to hard DVD media) is not recommended, is not supported, or gives the user a useless backup, then it should be removed from the backup options. I have since retrieved an older backup from an external USB drive and it, too, contains no data for drive C:. My company uses this software to back up the PCs that it ships with its products, so I am now going to launch an investigation to see if the DVDs we are sending to the customers are also useless. I will also set about trying to find another backup software that is less buggy (2015 is a mess), easier to use and more reliable.

Best regards,
