About missing Incremantal backup file

Thread needs solution

Hi guys.

İ am trying the acronis true image 2013 and i have faced a problem.i take my backup files to my external disk time to time.and today i have installed a new disk and my backup disk was disconnected.so the new disk had the drive letter which was related to my disconnected backup disk.So normally i have 3 incremantal backup files one of them is full and two of them are incremantal. So the acronis took 4th one to another disk.i realized it and deleted the taken 4th backup and replaced the backup file path to my reconnected backup disk. But when i press the backup now button it tries to create the 5th file.

ıs there anyway to make it take backup of 4th file again?

You should assign a fixed drive letter to your external drive, high in the alphabet (e.g. V) to avoid its letter changing. While there, you should also add a recognizable label to every disk, so you can uniquely identify it without the drive letter.

As for the incremental backup situation, you should probably use the settings in the particular backup task to delete that last backup. Then try backing up to the regular drive. (Although, if you follow my advice above then you'll need to create a new backup task for the new drive letter.)
