Acer D260 and True Image 2010-2011 Boot ISO (native) unusable :(

Thread needs solution

I have the same issue:
Using a native Acronis TI (2010 and 2011 tested all builds) BOOT ISO mounted on USB and readed by an ACER AOD260 (netbook), loading is OK until the first splash screen and the first menu ( i can use F11 key) but after it i have a black screen that wait me :(
The strange thing is that also the touchpad is not working. When i push F11 to use linux command, mouse arrow is not visible :(
I tried with vga=ask and all the modes avaiables. No success.

The road to change bios is impossible...
I wouldn't change BIOS because it's version v1.01 and on ACER there are only v3.xx. I don't want that those bioses are not correct for my model.
I think this model is to young and there is some issue on it...so????

What's happen?
I have buyed 4 licenses (2 TI + 2 TI Plus Pack) and i'm not able to get support ?
The only chance is the forum.
Italian site is very buggy...it seems that it's impossible to get support :(

Alessandro,

Have you downloaded the SAFE verions of the rescue CD which is under the Add Ons tab in your account.

If not, it may be worth downloading and installing it, making a new rescue CD, boot from it and select SAFE when given the Acronis menu.

This might work as it uses BIOS calls instead of using kernel drivers.

Hello Alessandro and Colin,

Thank you very much for your posts and your kind help Colin.

Alessandro, I will definitely assist you with this issue.

I was wondering if you were able to try Colin's suggestion and boot from the Safe media? You can download it from your Acronis web-account.

Can you let me know if you created the media using our software or something like Grub4Dos?

I am very sorry for the inconvenience regarding our Support site. Just in case, you can view this short video tutorial which shows the steps for contacting our Support team and, if the Italian site is not working, please try the US site which is available from this link.

If you are still having issues I would really appreciate if you could get back to us.

Thank you.

Ok i'll try to generate a new boot disc from installed soft using SAFE MODE.

I'm using grub4dos and i load the iso from menu.lst...
All the iso tested works ok with Packard Bell DOTS and old ACER AOD150.
With Acer AOD260 all iso (new and old) load OK but at the main program i see something but it's all dark (it seems that the pixel are not "light on")

Tested another AOD260 with broadcom wi-fi (the other model that i have tested and that have the problem have another wi-fi component): the result is that NO TROUBLE on load ISO and backup to an ext USB drive.
I trouble is that if i check validate archive the PC hangs randomly. No way i must turn off after the backup (during the validate) because there's no USB activities and the arrow is blocked on screen.
So i validate the backup using another PC (not netbook) and it's all OK (I'm using the same ISO loaded from GRUB).
Too much troubles! I'm now using GHOST. :(
