Acronis 2010 in Win 7

Thread needs solution

Hi
I am having a lot of problems running TI 2010 in Win 7.
I am dual booting Win 7 and Vista SP2.
Does anyone think that dual booting would cause my problems?.
TI 2010 opens, but stops responding no matter what I do.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ken

What method of dual-booting are you using (Microsoft's boot manager, third-party program, hidden OS partitions, etc.)?

I wouldn't think that the dual-boot setup would be the cause of the problem.

Have you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling TI?

Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7?

Hi
Thanks for the reply
I am using Microsoft's boot manager.
I installed Ti 2010 over top of the Vista installation. ( Vista with SP 2 it runs just great. )
It would not run.
I have since uninstalled it and re installed it under Win 7 at C drive, programes files etc.
Now it runs, but no matter what I click on it stops responding.
I have tried compatability setting for Xp, Vista with different SP setting and no go.
I have E Mailed Support, have no reply.
I'm using the 32 bit Win 7
Thanks
Ken

Have you tried TI 2010 on a clean (no other programs installed) installation of either Vista SP2 or Windows 7?

Are you using the final release of Windows 7?

You shouldn't need to use any compatibility settings for TI 2010.

Thanks for the help.
Yes I am using the final release of Win 7 Pro build 7600.
When I first installed Win 7 , I think TI 2010 was one of the first programs that I installed, and it just would not run. When it opened, the one click dialog box came up, and it would not close, just stopped responding. Now the one click box does not open, but it still will not respond
I can format and re install again if you think it will help.
Thanks
Ken

Backup programs are funny critters, Ha Ha!

Not so funny is that backup programs may not play nice(ly) with systems that may have leftover pieces of other backup programs. For example, I'not been able to install a particular trogram's tria version (not Acronis) in Windows 2000, perhaps, because I previously had TI 9 a.d/or Ghost 10 and or Reterospect (I ferget the version) previously installed in that OS.

I intend to create a dual boot Vista/Win 7 system by installing Win 7 in its own partition.

I am guessing that installing Win 7 over Vista likely caused problems.

Are you installing the latest update of TI 2010?

In the past, releases of TI have been known to have issues in their early releases.
