Acronis 2011 Recovery Problem

Thread needs solution

Hi;
1) I completed a test computer backup on Acronis 2011 in VMware 8, but when recover my backup from CD, I receive "Not free space on partition" error, but I want to recover "C" partition replace to old "C". Why I receive this error.

2) When I want to recover My Files from CD I cannot recover these to "Orginal Location" (cant select in options).

Please help me, thanks...

What is Acronis 2011? True Image Home 2011? Backup & Recovery 11 ?

2) Recovery to original location from bootable CD is disabled because it's hard to determine exact volume corresponding to original volume letter, e.g. if there are more than one OS on the disk.

Thanks for reply, my second question is OK!

I use True Image Home 2011, I can't recover "C" over the "C". I can Recover "C" over "D", "E". This is a real bad situation.

Arif,

First of all, make sure you do your recoveries from the recovery CD. Do not start a system partition recovery from Windows.
Then, remember that the recovery CD might show you drive letters that are NOT the same as in Windows. Pay extra attention to disk/partitions labels, not drive letters, when browsing and/or picking source and destination.

Thank for Reply Pat L;

I have booted my computer from recovery CD not windows, but when I select "Disc and Partition Recovery" and select "C" (with one partition, 160GB and other hard disks 500Gb, only C 160GB) and I receive "Not Enough space on C...." error. I don't understand this, does this "C" recovery to over "C" or not ?
