Acronis Crashes, then the "Report a problem to Acronis" freezes with "Acronis True Image Home has stopped working"
Hi,
I've just encountered what appears to be an unrecoverable failure with Acronis True Image Home 2015. I'm running the latest build and none of the various programs will now operate. Instead I get a dialog titled "Report a problem to Acronis" which suggests I can describe the actions I took and attach a system report. Sadly even this product fails with another dialog stating that Acronis true Image Home has stopped working!
When I look for support I find it ended in 2014 (not even 2015!!!) and that my only recourse of action it to seek it from others who may have experienced the same issue and (hopefully) may have some ideas on its resolution. I've had a quick look on this forum but can't see others are in the mire with me (yet).
I note there is a a new version released a few weeks ago...conicidental or not, I'm concerned about the integrity of my backups and my ability to recover information in the future. Luckily I ran a validate on my main backup yesterday but the state of my other longer term backup is unknown.
I've attached a screen grab of the result of trying to run the True Image Launcher or even the Startup Recovery program. The only thing I've managed to run is the System Report but I've not attached that as I guess it contains rather more about myself than I'd wish to reveal in an open forum.
All help appreciated.
Kind regards, Stefan

Thanks Herbert,
In desperation, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 2015 (build 6613 - I forgot to mention this last time). I then spotted that I could add existing backups - way hey! No way hey, sadly; yes I can add existing backups but they are not added as they once were - none of the source objects are identified and I'm pretty sure all the chaining's gone to pot. Will furkle a bit more with it but I'm getting disillusioned...
What are you using?
Cheers, Stefan

Hi all,
My problem is recent and on one PC (Win7). My other PC also uses Acronis....with no problems.
The odd happening is that when I try to open/use Acronis, it seems fine for 20 seconds. THEN a pop up appears, saying:
"Acronis True Image Home has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
There is a "CLOSE" box....and the message & Acronis close whether I click the box or not. This has repeated over & over, even though I UNINSTALLED and reinstalled Acronis True Image 2014 (losing all my set backup times, etc.). Is this an Acronis message....or is it from Microsoft?? I don't want to upgrade to 2016, since it does not back up MS Outlook & its settings.
I do have my True Image backups on other media....but no way to access them or boot into them. We plan to upgrade to Win10 this week.....and I want a fresh True Image backup before we upgrade.
ALL other programs on this PC (& our other networked PC) are working fine. What might be the source or reason for the stoppage?Any suggestions to prevent the stopping of Acronis T.I. 2014?
TIA for any ideas.....

K+S,
I would recommend signing in to your Acronis account online and downloading a copy of the latest bootable rescue media (as an ISO image file that you can burn to a CD), and using this to make a full backup of your PC before you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Please be aware that ATIH 2014 is not supported for use with Windows 10 by Acronis, only the 2015 or later versions are officially supported.
The actual error message may indicate that something has changed on your system that is now preventing ATIH from being able to execute - this could be a recent Windows Update change, a security program issue or a conflict with another program you have on the system. You would need to check the Windows Event (System & Application) logs to try to work out why this is happening.
