Acronis Fails to Create Partition Advice

Thread needs solution

Moderators, please feel feel to move this or edit it as needed but I'm hoping this will help the multiple postings I've seen about Acronis failing to create a partition during a back up operation.
I've been using Acronis True Image Home Edition for a couple of years now on my XP Pro machine and have always been happy with your software.
I had an issue that required me to repair my OS using my slipstreamed XP Pro SP2 disk.
Afterwards, Acronis would error out when it reached the Creating Partition portion of the operation.
None of the threads at this site gave me any clues as t why this could be occurring, other than the SnapApi plugin being corrupt or missing. I thought I could use the repair option offered within the Acronis installer but that failed to fix the problem.
As a last resort, I chose to uninstall Acronis fully using a third party uninstaller that scanned the system for all left over traces of Acronis; which is what I always do when removing software.
After a reboot, reinstalling and rebooting, Acronis runs without a hitch.
In conclusion. If you you have done a repair, or even used the Windows Recover Console to Fixboot or Fixmbr and Acronis fails to work properly, try thoroughly uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Hope this helps someone.
