Acronis Hangs

I started having read error messages when doing backups. I did a disc check/repair which showed nothing. I then removed and re-installed Acronis Home 2011, ran the update and now it just hangs and finally comes up with a not completed message. Any ideas?

Welcome to the dissatisfied Acronis users' club. Try backing up using a bootable rescue disk. Not ideal, but if it works then you know the problem is with another Windows process, not Acronis. Use Acronis to create the disk, then boot up with it. You may need to change the boot priority in the BIOS. Usually F2 while booting up, but compters vary.
