Acronis Home 2010 doesn't see my .tib

Thread needs solution

I've been using Acronis Home 2010 for about 2 years now and I'm running across an issue where I need to restore my laptop to a previous point. I'm running it from a flash drive at boot and Acronis comes up fine, but when I navigate to where my backup file is... it doesn't see it.

I am using a Toshiba laptop, have been able to restore to an old backup before by using this method, and am able to see the restore file in windows explorer. I have not tried running it on a different box to see if it will see it. I created the backup a year ago and don't remember if I had tried out the restore then, but I feel like I did.

Could this just be a corrupt backup?

On a somewhat related note... the laptop is also unable to restore from a Windows 7 Image because it cannot see the file. Odd coincidence?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice!

Is the backup file on a remote disk (a network share, NAS, etc.)? Or is it on a local disk?

A corrupt backup would still be seen, but would fail to recover.

Mark,
One thing you might check would be
If the folder holding the *.tib file does not appear or file does not appear, see if you can move right pane windows laterally. I have found instances where everything was there but the whole folder needed to be moved from right to left to see its contents.

Do all your selecting from the left pane and only switch to right pane when you want to click on one specific file.
