Hello Jason,

I understand your question and will do my best to give you clear explanation.

There is no way you can set Acronis True Image program to start the computer. I would recommend you to check if BIOS allows you to do this task. Go to “Power Management Setup” and enable “ PWron/Resume by alarm” and set date alarm and time alarm and then press F10 to save your change and turn off your PC. If you don’t have such an option in BIOS then search for utilities to perform this.

Here is step-by-step instruction how to use the Pre/Post commands option of Acronis True Image Home 2010 to automatically shutdown computer after backup:

* Run the Schedule Task wizard;

* At the Backup Options step choose Pre/Post commands;

* Choose the Use Custom Commands;

* Hit the Edit button next to the After the backup process field;

* Put in the Post command as specified below:

Command: shutdown

Working directory: C:\Windows\System32\

Arguments: -s

This command will automatically shut down the computer after the completion of backup process.

You can also put in any other shutdown command parameter in the Arguments field. For the complete list of the parameters please see:

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
