Acronis Secure Zone in W7 Explorer

Thread needs solution

Although my Acronis Secure Zone (physically located on my second HDD) appears in the W7 Explorer as "Other", I cannot access any files from there. After clicking "Acronis Secure Zone ", I have to refresh the window several times until I get into the content of that backup file. At that stage, W7 Explorer usually stops responding and W7 re-starts the Explorer.

The only way to access the backup to restore individual files is by mounting the backup as a drive from within True Image 2012. While this works perfectly well, the access through the W7 needs quite some improvement.

Can this be addressed in a future update?

Why are you using the Secure Zone? it is less flexible than a regular partition...

Hi Volks
Access to the secure zone has alwys been via the image mounting process which is done from the Acronis program. It is part of the extra security offered by the secure zone to ensure that other programs or malware cannot interfere with the archives in the secure zone.

Pat, I do not want the dubious advantages of more flexibility applied to my precious backups. Apart from the obvious extra security offered by a secure zone on a seperate drive a very vauable feature is automatic management of backup archives on the FIFO basis. It is simplicity itself with no need for any extra scripts, the facility is built in and good to go.
