Is Acronis selling software or (expensive) services?

I put up with the unnecessary Acronis Cloud storage that came with ATI2014. (I see that some people weren't that keen on it though, as you can read here [disable] Cloud Storage | Acronis Community.)
But I find that ATI2015 not only comes with its own cloud service but delivers yet another bit of cloudy software that demands money from me. (I've forgotten what it is called because I removed it from my PC.) I'd normally ignore this stuff, but given Acronis's dreadful first release of AT2015, this practice is, for me, yet another nail in the coffin for this particular software. What more will ATI2016 bring in the way of "ransomware"?
Then there is the fact that Acronis seems to have a funny idea of pricing cloud stuff - Acronis wants £209.90/year for 1Tb while Dropbox wants £79/year. (I confess that Acronis's price list doesn't make much sense, so I may have got that wrong.) Oh, and for £79.99 a year (discounts available) I can get not only 1TB on Microsoft's OneDrive, but a three-PC subscription to Office 365.
Is it just me, or do other people think that, as a software supplier, Acronis should let me decide where to put my files rather than locking me into its own cloud? If True Image offers a cloud connection, I should be able to plug into whatever service I like. This is certainly the case with the file backup software that I use.
Oh, and I see that anyone buying ATI2015 now is offered Acronis Disk Director 12. How about those of us who foolishly bought in at the beginning?
