Acronis True Image 2010 - 7046 : When used with a linux NAS Acronis autogenerates names and won't allow me to type anything ???
Hello
I'm having some frustration with Acronis True Image ... I have to trick it into letting me type destinations on a NAS
I'm trying to make a backup of a folder on Windows 7 Professional 64bit ...
When I try to type in the directory name on my NAS after entering the server name I can't get more than a letter or two before Acronis True Image starts AUTOGENERATING a name which is a little short of the intended destination.
I type //server/backups/ and then browse as this is faster than network neighborhooding it through network self discovery finally finding the host computer is not Solipsistic in it's existance.
It wipes out everything I have typed past '//server/' and sticks in some default location unrelated to the backup I am making and then locks me out of typing the rest of my destination ... my backups go to //server/backups/(machine name) ... Acronis wants to stick them in neverspace at //server/mplayer_@date@.tib ... I'm guessing this will try to stick it in the virtual file space //server is not a directory?
The few times I have gotten it to work ... I open notepad ... type in my location in full (path and directory and name with .tib) ... and then paste it ... if I'm lucky it won't get autocorrected if I hit next really, really fast.
Are there any less frustrating workarounds?
Thanks for your time,
Bobby
