Acronis True Image 2010 boot Disk will not work with new Dell Optiplex 580

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have a new Dell Optiplex 540 SFF computer which I loaded my copy of Acronis True Image 2010 and the Plus Pack onto. I created a bootable CD to create an image and have ready for use if recovery is ever required. The boot disk was created without any issues, however when I tried to use it the following error occurred "Acronis Loader fatal error: Boot drive (partition) not found". I have the latested update of True Image build 7046.
have been unable to find a fix for this issue that works, I opened a ticket with Acronis Support on June 21st and as of yet have not received any replies. Any assistenace would be appreciated.

PC is a Dell Optiplex 580
Mainboard Dell 0YKH50
Athlon II x2 B22
HD Samsung SCSI
DVD TEAC DV-28SW SCSI
Memory DDR3
SCSI Controller AMD AHCI

Thanks,

JC

Hello John!

Thank you for finding time to join us and report about the issue! I understand your concern and will be glad to help you.

Most probably the issue was caused by the lack of proper drivers (sometimes it happens during the creation process), but I'm glad to inform you that we have a workaround for it:

Please download the updated Bootable Media from your account, burn it onto the CD and check whether the issue persists. This should resolve the problem, but I would anyway appreciate if you could let us know the results.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

I'm new to Acronis, and have been given the Snap Deploy 3.0 Trial today. In my testing with the exact same machine listed above (Dell OptiPlex 580), I too get the "Acronis Loader fatal error: Boot drive (partition) not found" error message. This has stopped me in my tracks - which is more unfortunate since this clearly is a known issue by Acronis. The recommendation above to log on to download the "latest version" (build 3470) should be the exact same file I downloaded 2 hours ago (from a link from an Email received from Acronis).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Shaun,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting.

I will do my best to help you with this issue.

It appears to be a hardware detection problem, the bootable media does not detect it. I would recommend to collect this report and contact our Support team so that we can properly investigate it. We offer technical support for the duration of the trial period.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Any solution to this problem? I, too am trying to boot a Dell Optiplex 580 with an Acronis Bootable Media dated March 2011.

Hello Will,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to help you.

I am not sure which Acronis product you are using, but if the latest build fails to detect your hardware, I would suggest to get this report and contact our Support directly. I am certain that we will fix this.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I am having the same issue with my Dell OptiPlex 580. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Hello Jon,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to help you.

I am not sure which program version you are using, but just in case, I will send you a private message with a download link for Acronis True Image 2012 Home. The trial version is limited to recovery operations only but it can still be used to recover backups created with older versions.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
