Acronis True Image 2010 Error

Thread needs solution

I have noticed that Acronis True Image 2010 may be causing my computer to blue screen. I'm using Windows 7 and it has an option under [Control Panel] > [System and Security] > [Power Options] > [Edit Plan Settings] to Put the computer to sleep after 30 minutes.

I am suspecting that my computer is going to sleep during a scheduled Acronis True Image 2010 backup operation.

Is there a way to make Acronis True Image 2010 check and see if the computer is not in Sleep or Hibernate mode before performing an operation?

Ray, I understand that this is not really an answer to your question. But perhaps it nevertheless help.

Myself came to the conclusion, thatat at this time too many Software (including ATI) had usability problems with the Windows 7 Sleep Modus. Therefore, I decided to deactivate Windows 7 Sleep modus (without changing other energy saving suboptions - my monitor and my disks still shut off after nn minutes inactivities).

From the point of view of energy/electricity conservation, this is not what I would really like to have. But untill ATI and other Software behave better in their support of sleep modus and energy conservation , this is probably nevertheless a reasonable temporary compromise.

Hello Ray and Robert,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Acronis scheduler won't wake the computer from standby but the Windows embedded scheduler will. Therefore you can use the below instructions in order to execute tasks on schedule on a computer that you need to wake up from standby to run the task.

Please create a task with Windows Scheduler and call Acronis True Image Service using a command line like below where you fill in the path and filename of appropriate Acronis True Image Script file in place of the [bracketed portion]:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImage\TrueImageService.exe" /script:"[drive:path\scriptname.tis]"

Acronis True Image Script files for scheduled backups are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applicaton Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts and have the extension "tis". To make sure that the necessary script will be selected you can edit it with Acronis True Image Home 2010 and then identify it by modification date and time stamp.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
