Acronis True Image 2010 home. Is it compatible with win7 x64 ?

Thread needs solution

Hi.
I used Acronis True Image Home 2010 vers. 13.0.7046 on a Win XP Sp3 32bit. Everything was OK.
Now I bought a new PC win7 x64. May I use the product on it ? Is it compatible ?
Thanks in advance

Yes, it is compatible but your license calls for it to be used on only 1 computer. You will need to uninstall from the older computer before you can install on win7. You may have activation issues.

Before you install on Win7, use your CD and make a backup of the Win7 before 2010 is installed so you have the capability of putting your system back to before 2010 installed--should you have an issue and need to go back.

Thankyou GroverH. I'll unistalled it before installing on win 7. Just to clarify:
1. I make the image of the new PC with win 7 x64, using the Acronis ricovery CD that I used so far to make images of the old PC.
2. I unistall Acronis 2010 from the old PC.
3. I install Acronis 2010 on the new PC.
Is it right ?
4. After installing must I create again a new recovery CD ?

Thankyou very much.

1. Use 2010 CD to image old system if you do not have a current full & complete backup. Check mark disk as to what is to be backed up.
2. Uninstall the 2010 from old system.
3. Use same 2010 CD to image new system. Check mark disk as to what is to be backed up.
4. Install the 2010 onto Win 7. Creating a new CD not necessary. A new one would be identical to old. Have whatever serial numbers you need handy in a text file open on Win7 so you can just paste the long serial rather than typing individual letters.

Before installing onto Win 7, be sure and check to make sure your build of 2010 is the most current build for 2010. If a new build is available, be sure to create a new CD after the install of the new build.

The bootCD is not customized to individual PCs. Whatever version one has, it makes the same BootCD for everyone.

Be sure you have admin rights when you run the uninstall/installer.

Always a good idea to use msconfig when uninstalling/installing a program like ati

http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/

ATI won't run on all machines, but it's not because a machine is running W7-64. Best to test before you buy. Then after buying give the program a real workout before the first 30 days are up -- after the first 30 days, you have to pay extra for tech support from Acronis.
