Acronis True Image 2015 Won't start

Thread needs solution

For some reason, my TI2015 gets this error whenever I try to start it. I am unable to complete the form and send to acronis 'cause it is ended before I can complete.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled and get the same error. Was working last week as I installed a new external USB drive, moved my current backups to it, and pointed my scheduled backups to the new location. My next step is to look at system updates since last week and maybe do a system restore to see if that resolves the issue. Any other ideas?

You might try to repair the installation. To do that just run the install file again which should produce a menu from which you can choose the Repair option.

Thanks you for your suggestions. I've DL the installer and tried repair and that did not fix. I found a utility in the Acronis download section that uninstalls all Acronis products and cleans the registry. Ran that and then installed TI 2015 again. SAME ISSUE.

I'm thinking there's a conflict with something else running.

When you ran the cleanup utility did you also perform the registry edits outlined in the instructions? If yes I would recommend that you scan your hard drive for errors using Windows chkdsk utility and that you run the Windows System File Checker.

chkdsk for Windows 7 from within Windows:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2641432

chkdsk for Windows 7 and 8 from an elevated command prompt:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2854570

Windows System File Checker for Windows 5 and 8:

I had the same issue and was able to fix it by useing the exclusion on norton antivirus settings to keep the software from scanning the acronis folder.

Suddenly Acronis True Image Home Home 2015 wont start for me.  The program immediatly crashes on startup.  Yesterday it worked, today it doesn't with no changes to the system.  I download the latest Acronis 2015 build and went through the repair process with no change.

Windows 10, latest build with all updates, AMD 8 core CPU, NVidia video card, 16 gigs ram, newer (2 week old) SSD, Avast anti-virus.

Windows compatability checker tells me that Trueimagelauncher is incompatible.

Ideas please.  I have not yet tried an uninstall/reinstall.

Bill

Bill, I am not aware of any issues with ATIH 2015 build 6613 running on Windows 10 and being classed as incompatible unless you have an early release build (Insiders build) of Windows 10 that now deems it to be incompatible?

If it was working OK yesterday and not today, then the key question is 'what has changed?' though it is not always possible to answer this!

You could try doing a Repair install of ATIH 2015 by downloading / reinstalling the software over the top of what is already there - this can help if any of the Acronis files have been corrupted or replaced by incompatible versions?

Alternatively, you could try stopping the Program Compatibility Assistant Service which polices applications for compatibility - see screen shot attached.

I did try a repair which did not work as I said in my original post.

Today I uninstalled Acronis 2015 and reinstalled.  It now works although I had to re-register it as expected.  The old backup jobs don't work although they did appear on the list so I'm removing and recreating them.

Bill

Bill, sorry must have skipped over your point about already having tried the repair option, but glad that the uninstall and reinstall has worked for you.
