Acronis True Image Home 2009 will not clone a disk
I'm using Vista x64, all updated to the latest patches. I am running the latest version of True Image Home 2009.
I tried to clone my D: disk to a new disk connected via eSATA, and when it tries to actually do the clone operation, I get an error:
Error
X Failed to run the task
Filed to execute the task script. Error #1364 - "A specified authentication package is unknown (0xFFF0)"
I re-ran the program as administrator with the same results.
I googled for this error, and some of the suggestions were that:
1) There is a registry entry missing and it points me to an MS knowledgebase article that shows me how to add the registry entry. I checked, and it's there already as specified.
2) There are some hints that NetLogon service is not running. However, when I try to start it, Vista reports:
The Netlogon service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are no in use by other services or programs.

So guys, I'm stumped. I think there's a bug in your program.

I ended up using the CD last night to clone it, but the reason I don't just use an xcopy is that it's never clear if permissions and all files are copied (particularly system and hidden files). And if you have an error with xcopy halfway in, where do you start again?
If you use explorer, that's about the slowest way to copy files as well. Using clone ensures I have all files, and it works very quickly.
Incidentally, it took about 3-4 hours to copy 1.5 TB to the new drive.
But I'd still think the program should not crash on basic stuff with an error.

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for your interest in Acronis Products
Can you please clarify did you perform full drive backup or “Clone Disk” option? If you perform full drive backup then the issue concerns blank Windows account password for a schedule task. Check under Scheduling -> Run with credentials -> make sure you have entered your Windows login and password to the appropriate fields.

My registered copy of acronis stopped working, it says it's cloned a disk but it does not. I want to update but the current acronis website keeps me on a merry go round. It wants me to register, and I do, then it says, the product is already registered, then I try to update and it says I have to register it.. the Acronis site will not let me do any thing. help please.

Are you selecting Update when you log into your account? If you are, you need to select Registered Products to actually get an update.

This is/was Clone Disk option. I don't see a place to run with credentials for this option.

Hello Martin,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
In this case the issue related to Acronis Scheduler, I may recommend you update scheduler using the following KB article
If the issue persists I may recommend you to use Acronis bootable disc as workaround to clone the drive.
