Acronis True Image Home 2010-does it have to be resident??
I am a long time user of Acronis TI 10 on Windows XP and now Vista. Works fine.
I do not have ATI 2010 yet but got an offer to upgrade.
A few quick questions:
1. Do I need Acronis® True Image Home 2010 if I use Windows 7 in the future on a 32 bit machine?
2. Is there a way to make ATI 2010 not resident all the time if I want to backup manually like I do now? I assume that ATI 2010 will install and be resident as a service or 2. Or can I just kill the services once they start?
3. I am hopeful this program does not run like Norton products and have a verify module to assume you are licensed properly. I always am licensed properly and any such verification apps take up memory.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely
Peter

I have gone to the other extreme. I use only the rescue CD to boot from and create (and maybe some day, restore) images to a network or USB hard drive.
I don't trust installing any part of ATI on my XP Pro PC.
I use the free QuickShadow Copy to monitor My Documents and copy any new/changed files to my NAS.
